Overseas Hardwoods Co. Acquires Dallas-based SITCO Lumber
Company Press Release
Overseas Hardwood Company (“OHC”), an importer and distributor of high-performance, fine hardwoods for the transportation, outdoor living, millwork, and marine industries, has acquired SITCO, a national leader in fine and exotic hardwood importing.
“We are excited and honored to join forces with SITCO Lumber. SITCO is a renowned brand in the Hardwood Lumber Industry with a storied history. SITCO’s founder, Henry Fulcher, and our founder, Lee Robinson Sr., were good friends and colleagues. We look forward to continuing the SITCO tradition of supplying the finest hardwood lumber from around the world together, now combined with OHC’s added value services and its own unique product offerings. And we plan to do so with renewed vigor,” said Lee Robinson Jr., President of OHC.
Headquartered in Dallas, SITCO has been a major distributor of fine and exotic hardwoods for more than 60 years and has multiple locations throughout the United States including, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Chicago.
OHC’s acquisition of SITCO will greatly increase the number and variety of high performance, imported lumber species that the company can sell. In addition, OHC will be able to offer a wide array of value-added machining services to SITCO’s customer base.
OHC recognizes SITCO’s commitment to excellence in the exotic and fine hardwood industry and is poised to invest into the organization while reinvigorating the business.
In many ways, the addition of SITCO will return OHC to its roots. SITCO has specialized in importing the best hardwoods available from Africa. At OHC’s inception in 1967, the first three truckloads of hardwood imported were African mahogany.
