Green Diamond Hires New CFO
Green Diamond Resource Company officials recently announced the appointment of Daemon Repp as vice president and chief financial officer (“CFO”), based at the company’s Seattle headquarters. Repp, who previously was vice president and CFO at Pope Resources, will replace Dale Sowell, who is retiring later this year. “In the past six years, Green Diamond invested in forest land in regions beyond the Pacific Northwest, created a subsidiary to manage timberlands for institutional investors and emerged as a leader in the sale of forest carbon offsets,” said Green Diamond President Douglas Reed. “We are confident that Daemon’s experience will continue to help us grow and expand our business.”
Repp held various roles at Olympic Resource Management (“ORM”) and Pope beginning in August 2010, with responsibility for financial reporting, forecasting, investor relations and other functions. He advanced to director of finance in August 2017 and the CFO position in December 2018, continuing in the latter role until the sale earlier this year.
Prior to his employment at ORM and Pope, Repp performed research and analysis of hedge funds. He also worked in banking and aerospace. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a concentration in finance from Pacific Lutheran University (1997) and earned the Chartered Financial Analyst® (“CFA”) designation in 2004.
