110 New Jobs Coming to Southeast Michigan as Cabinet Manufacturer Cabinetworks Expands in Livonia
Company chooses Michigan over other states in part due to the strength of the state’s workforce
Today, Governor Gretchen Whitmer and the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) announced that leading cabinet manufacturer Cabinetworks Group is expanding in Livonia with support from the Michigan Strategic Fund. The project is expected to generate a total capital investment of $14.2 million and create 110 high-wage corporate and professional services jobs. Michigan was chosen for the project over competing sites in other states because of the company’s longstanding history and existing talent base in the state.
“Cabinetworks is driving $14.2 million of investment and creating 110 good jobs in Southeast Michigan, underscoring the strength of our talented workforce and building on our economic momentum,” said Governor Whitmer. “We’re pleased to support Cabinetworks’ expansion in Livonia and look forward to working with the company as it continues to grow here and add jobs for Michiganders. Together, we can continue to send a clear message that everyone is welcome to make it in Michigan.”
“The decision by Cabinetworks to expand in Michigan underscores the strength of our business climate and talented workforce,” said?MEDC Sr. Vice President of Regional Prosperity Matt McCauley. “This project is a win for Southeast Michigan and for the entire state.
