Madison’s Reporter: Lumber Sales Brisk as Prices Remain Flat

In the week ending January 12, 2024, the price of Western S-P-F 2×4 #2&Btr KD (RL) was US$442 mfbm, said forest products industry price guide newsletter Madison’s Lumber Reporter. This is down by -$10, or -2%, compared to the previous week when it was $452.

That week’s price is up by +$31, or +8%, from one month ago when it was US$411 mfbm.

Compared to the same week last year, when it was US$370 mfbm, that week’s price is up by +$72, or +19%. Compared to two years ago when it was US$1,100 mfbm, that week’s price is down by -$658 or -60%.

In the week ending January 12, 2024, the price of Southern Yellow Pine East Side 2×4 #2&Btr KD (RL) was US$460 mfbm. This is down by -$10, or -2%,  from the previous week when it was US$470 mfbm.

That week’s price is up by +$8, or +2%, from one month ago when it was US$453 mfbm.
