The Detering Company Acquires Weatherford Door and Window Company

The Detering Company, a building materials company specializing in millwork, doors, windows, cabinets, brick & stone has acquired the assets of Weatherford Door & Window Co., a Bryan, Texas-based dealer of doors, windows, and hardware for customers in Central Texas. While Weatherford will become a Detering Company, the staff and location will remain the same. Established in 1926, The Detering Company has been in the Houston building market for more than 90 years. With this acquisition Detering will have the ability to both distribute and manufacture directly from Central Texas.

“We are excited to add Weatherford, well respected for its quality products and outstanding people, as a Detering Company, and we look forward to the opportunity to better serve our Bryan and College Station customers,” said owner Carl Detering. While Detering has serviced Bryan and College Station and Central Texas, this acquisition will allow a greater capability for distribution throughout the area.

Weatherford Door & Window is the second addition to the Detering group of companies, the first being the acquisition of South Texas Brick and Stone, a brick and stone distributor in Houston in December of 2014.
