International Forest Products Celebrates 50th Anniversary in 2022

General News

This year marks a milestone anniversary for International Forest Products LLC (“IFP”). Founded by Robert Kraft in 1972, IFP is a subsidiary of the Kraft Group of companies and is one of the largest traders of forest products commodities in the world. The Journal of Commerce has annually ranked IFP among the top-10 U.S. exporters for all products for the last six years.

“International Forest Products began as a startup export containerboard company in 1972, competing against some international giants in the industry,” said Dan Kraft, President and Chief Executive Officer of IFP. “Every year, IFP has grown in size, trade volume, and diversity of products. Fifty years later, we annually rank among the leaders in U.S. exports and in the worldwide trade of forest products commodities. That is a credit to the thousands of dedicated employees globally who have contributed to our success. I am very proud of our team and all they have accomplished and look forward to continued growth and future milestone anniversaries.”

IFP began as an exporter of containerboard from the United States. Over the decades, not only has IFP increased its containerboard portfolio, but it has also diversified to be a global player in all forest products commodities, including market pulp, recycled fibers, printing and writing papers, paperboard, and a wide variety of logs, lumber and panel products.

IFP is headquartered in Foxborough, Mass. and has international offices around the globe with dedicated employees to support its customers and suppliers. With five decades and two generations of trading history, IFP is equipped to conduct business in any language and has intimate knowledge of local customs, traditions, market conditions and pricing trends. IFP’s own cloud-based technology platform, coupled with a balance sheet that is as strong as any in the international arena, has facilitated the company’s growth as a world leader in its industry, doing business in more than 100 countries worldwide.
