Report: Phenix Lumber Maintenance Worker Struck and Killed
According to local news reports, a maintenance worker died at Phenix Lumber Co. (HQ: Phenix City, AL), in an industrial accident.
AL.com reports that on Wednesday, August 23, 2023, “police and fire medics were dispatched at 3:30 p.m. to Phenix Lumber Company.” Upon arrival they “learned an employee had been struck by a piece of equipment.”
James Streetman, 67, was “pronounced dead on the scene.”
Police Capt. Skip Lassiter confirmed that “OSHA was notified and investigation is ongoing.” It was also noted that this is the second major incident since 2020 at Phenix Lumber Co.
